Transeo (with Tune-Up)

The innovative Surface Finishing Solution (SFS) for "Coating on demand" in Digital and other Print Processing Lines.

At Drupa 2008, GP Stratum (former GP Tinter) will launch a completely new range of "Coating on Demand" products with new and innovative processes for digital print lines. Transeo is a modular design of unit to meet the new requirements of improved Levels of Productivity and Quality of Print in ink and toner based Digital Print Processes.

Visit our booth at Drupa and we guarantee you will see what you have never seen before!

Background:
As a professional you know the consequences of finishing processes having to deal with dry and static laden papers, dusty and dirty transportation components, shrinkage and paper deformations. These are well-known effects which influence the result of your printing capacity as well as not meeting your customer’s requested qualities. Today, you might spend time and investment to improve the environmental conditions of paper storage as well as climate control in the printing area.  With Transeo and Tune-Up, you can to a large extent neutralize these described effects in digital printing.

Tune-Up is a water based emulsion which has to be applied after the digital printer to seal the print, remove static, re-humidify and eliminate waviness and friction from the paper. The paper will pass through the post print process and deliver sheets or web (roll to roll) ready for various purposes such as mailings etc. with an increase in productivity and quality that you have never seen before!

Primer, another new chemical, has to be applied to paper before the digital or ink jet printer, giving improved quality and new and better characteristics to paper of various qualities. The Primer can be applied in line or off line. We are very confident in our statement ‘Seeing is believing’.

NOTE! Primer will be applied to paper by a new unit which will be launched at Drupa.

Transeo together with a Cooling Unit will provide a far better quality to digital printing that uses hot fusing technology by eliminating known problems of shrinking caused by high temperature and dehydration of the paper. The unit will also provide improved quality for Toner and Ink Jet based printers.

The new Surface Finishing Solution (SFS) is modular in design: with a ‘Cooling Section’ (necessary for hot fusing printers) and with the ‘Coating Unit’ fully automated in processing and self cleaning for optimum usage.

GP Stratum is in co-operation with selected partners and customers for the pilot period of the Transeo, ending just before the Drupa Exhibition. The units are manufactured by a professional partner located in Germany. The new coating unit has a modern design, and is easy to operate and maintain. Transeo meets all current standards for modern equipment in the graphic arts industry.

GP Stratum has transferred its knowledge to the ‘Digital Printing’ market from many years of experience in the ‘Offset’ printing industry with coating products (GP Tinters). Worldwide more than six thousand coaters are in production for different applications

The ‘Return on Investment’ can be reached in the shortest timeframe by improved productivity. Service and operating costs will be reduced. Paper costs will be reduced, as the Transeo with chemicals will provide a good quality for print on ‘Standard Papers’.

Customer’s experiences with current technology and products are:

  • Limited usage of various paper qualities
  • Limited speed and throughput of production due to poor paper quality
  • Interruptions and stoppages in the production line due to poor paper quality

The Transeo unit advantages:

  • Smooth and efficient paper transport through the digital print line with use of Tune-Up
  • Laser print fixed by sealing with Tune-Up
  • Reduction in paper shrinkage, especially with printers generating high temperature

Results generated with the Transeo:

  • Higher quality finish on print
  • Cost savings through higher production speed due to:
    • reduced wave pattern in the paper
    • reduced static
    • decreased friction
  • More effective productivity with less problems in the production line

GP Stratum offers a high level of control during the coating as the system regulates all process parameters including the temperature, humidity of the paper, and environmental conditions to secure the quality of the final product. Suitable applications are books, sheets, special forms, manuals and even pharmaceutical leaflets on light weight paper.

Where to buy:
The Transeo ‘Surface Finishing Solution’ together with the other qualified GPS products will be sold and distributed through certified distributors.

GP Stratum is open to contract new partners and agents in different market fields, reflecting the individual demands within the printing industry to create ‘added value’ and wider business perspectives for our customers in all the printing sectors.
